What is Direct Access?

Direct access to barristers enables members of the public, whether companies or individuals, to go directly to a barrister without having to involve an instructing solicitor or other intermediary. Direct access is also known as public access.

A barrister working directly with clients will be able to give clients advice, represent them in court and negotiate on their behalf, and assist them with drafting documents and correspondence.
