Rajinder Singh Khela

Having been called to the Bar in 2012, Rajinder operates an unregulated practice and is responsible for formulating and executing the overarching strategy of the firm.

Satpal Roth-Sharma

Satpal is a highly experienced advocate at the Criminal Bar. She possesses extensive litigation and advisory experience, spanning over 25 years in the legal fields of serious crime, regulatory, corporate, and professional negligence.
She possesses specialised expertise in issues pertaining to family, coroner work, civil fraud, and financial investigations.
Satpal is regularly instructed by the Insolvency Service and is also a Grade 2 prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service.
In 2019, Satpal transitioned to the Bar, combining her skills and experiences gained as a solicitor and practice owner. Her background provides a unique understanding of financial businesses and client needs.
She is registered with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) on the Register of Practitioners (Part II).

Ayesha Smart
Barrister | Year of Call: 2014
Ayesha enjoys a mixed practice of crime, regulatory, and civil. She also sits as a recorder in Crown Courts across North-East England.
Ayesha prosecutes and defends in all areas of criminal law. She is often instructed in matters from homicide, drug trafficking, serious violence, sexual offences and fraud, often requiring a level of expertise and skill normally associated with somebody of much more senior call.
She is passionate about animal law and is a renowned RSPCA prosecutor. She regularly advises and represents individuals charged with offences against the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, Animal Welfare Act 2006, and Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
Ayesha also accepts instructions in personal injury and clinical negligence. With a medico-legal background she has particular strength in healthcare and regulatory matters. Possessing a comprehensive working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology and is proficient in various medical specialities.
Experienced in representing medical and healthcare practitioners in disciplinary proceedings, including final hearings, sanctions, and interim suspensions. She also defends professionals charged with criminal offences, handling quasi-criminal allegations and representing Registrants in conviction cases.
Ayesha regularly appears in the Coroner’s Court, representing parties in inquests into deaths in custody, neglect, medical malpractice, mental health, substance abuse, and road traffic accidents, particularly in cases involving medical malpractice and vulnerable parties. Most of her cases are Article 2 and jury inquests.
She has advised and represented the Trading Standards on food and product safety, service provision, and in Food Crime cases, advising for the prosecution and defence. Also boasts experience in prosecuting private prosecutions led by the Security Industry Authority, Royal Mail, the Local Authority, and the RSPCA.

Paul Addison
Barrister | Year of Call: 1988
Paul is a highly competent, diligent, and seasoned barrister. He possesses extensive expertise in both criminal and regulatory matters, as well as landlord and tenant cases.
Paul has garnered widespread recognition from judges, professionals, and lay clients alike for his exceptional work. He establishes strong rapport with his clients and delivers exceptional service, earning him a reputation as a reliable and skilled barrister. He is adept at handling cases involving high levels of disclosure, particularly in relation to mobile phone evidence. He regularly appears in Crown Courts and the Court of Appeal across the nation.
He prosecutes a wide range of criminal matters, including violence, serious assaults, sexual offences, drugs, firearms, dishonesty, fraud, and forensic analysis of disclosure. He has also experience dealing with cases like serial child rape, historic sexual offences, family incest, and rape at gunpoint, having been on the RASSO panel. Further, has been nominated as an ‘A’ list counsel on the Attorney General’s Crime Panel of Advocates.
Paul has experience defending various cases, including murder, serious assaults, drug trafficking, and conspiracy cases involving gang violence. He also deals with allegations of dishonesty, including large-scale banking, consumer, and gambling fraud, counterfeit credit card factories, credit card skimming, and substantial City of London conspiracies.
In addition to his criminal practice, Paul is experienced at dealing with regulatory matters. He has prosecuted on behalf of the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency, dealing with cases against doctors, chemists, and dentists. His regulatory work includes cases concerning the Medicines Acts and associated European Directives.
Paul specialises in handling landlord and tenant disputes, particularly taking and defending possession claims. He has experience in both residential and commercial properties and effectively represents both landlords and tenants.
