What is Direct Access?
Direct access to barristers enables members of the public, whether companies or individuals, to go directly to a barrister without having to involve an instructing solicitor or other intermediary. Direct access is also known as public access.
A barrister working directly with clients will be able to give clients advice, represent them in court and negotiate on their behalf, as well as assist them with drafting documents and correspondence.
What are the Benefits of Direct Access?
Cover fees only for the cost of a Barrister.
When you instruct your barrister, there is an agreed fixed fee for each stage of work, there may also be available a payment plan to help deliver access to justice and make legal representation more affordable.

Barrister Advice
A barrister will be providing you with advice from the outset of your case which will in turn mean that there is a significant saving in costs as there is only one barrister involved rather than a solicitor and a barrister.
Direct Access from the Outset
Direct access allows the client to engage with a barrister from the outset. This allows both client and barrister to work together, making important decisions with a plan of action in mind which may influence the outcome of a case.
Honest and Upfront Counsel
The client will receive honest and upfront advice directly from a barrister about the seriousness and nature of the case as well as the strength of the evidence. This early interaction acknowledges significant decisions, which may have pivotal consequences to be taken together such as, approaching interviews or questioning by a regulatory body.
Your case handled from start to finish.
From the outset, the client will know who their barrister is and will be able to agree upon an approach to the case through to finish. Having a consistent barrister will mean the client does not have to deal with different solicitors or case handlers and will have a clear-cut idea of what needs to be done at any stage of the case
